N.O.W.T. NE Cumbria - Fighting the windfarm's effects on local residents

Welcome to the N.O.W.T North East Cumbria website

N.O.W.T NE Cumbria is a group set up to oppose the Banks Developments Ltd proposal for wind farms
at the Black Knors, Mossgrove, and Stonechest areas of North East Cumbria.

These wind farms will be situated close to Bewcastle, Bailey, Stapleton, Roweltown, and Penton.

This area of the Cumbria Borders near to the Scottish Border, Northumberland and not far from
Hadrian’s Wall is a quiet and peaceful rural haven.

Forty 125-metre turbines are being proposed of which some will be 500 metres from properties,
dramatically changing the area for at least the next 25 years.

Plans for a Biomass Generator at one of the sites
are of great concern and will be vigorously fought.

N.O.W.T will endeavour to inform and help
those with questions about the wind farms.

Our mission is to stop the wind farms having any negative effect on the lives of local residents.

Whilst we understand that renewable energy can be of great benefit, this should not be at the
cost of any individual or community.

Please use this website to find out more about our campaign
and how you can become a part of the N.O.W.T group.
